Developing a good therapeutic alliance is key.
About me.
Damien Rivkin
I am a warm and skilled clinical psychologist with more than 15 years of experience helping diverse clients with a range of psychological issues in both public and private settings.
While my therapeutic foundation is cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), I use an eclectic approach and tailor my treatment to the specific needs of individual clients. Some of the other key modalities that I draw upon include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy.
I have regularly supervised postgraduate students from major NSW universities including the University of Sydney, UNSW, UTS and Macquarie University. Supervising students gives me the opportunity to give back to the profession and guide the next generation of psychologists.
Acknowledging that we have a problem and then seeking help can be intimidating. With this in mind, I will make you feel welcome, respected and cared for. I am empathic and non-judgmental and acknowledge people's unique perspectives as the expert in their own lives. Together, we will form a collaborative therapeutic relationship to help you address your issues, achieve your goals and start leading a richer and more rewarding life.
